Anamnesis’ is the new album by the London-based experimental composer, made up of 22 short pieces stitched together to narrate a sonic journey through memory.

Inspired by the ability of a photograph to encapsulate the details and sensations of a moment in time, the album is made up of 22, 1-minute-long pieces and was developed around the concept of nostalgia as a creative agent capable of re-enacting, altering and also generating new memories. ‘Anamnesis’, and its focus on nostalgia, treads the line between remembering and forgetting; between idealisation and creativity.

‘Anamnesis’ evokes the way a postcard contracts landscapes by challenging Iván’s own tendency to use extensive stretches of time to develop a soundscape. The album is produced using a combination of synths, piano, guitar, old tape equipment, generative techniques and field recordings.
